It can be overwhelming when you are experiencing serious behavior problems in your dog! Even more so when those behaviors happen when they are left alone. Have your neighbors complained or expressed concern about the welfare of your dog because of the constant whining, barking or howling?

Whether you have stopped doing things you enjoy or you're retuning home to destruction, chaos, and complaining neighbors, separation anxiety takes its toll.

Canine Zen's Calm Alone Program aims to help your dog learn to be comfortable with their alone time so you can enjoy your freedom. Before you know it, you will enjoy stress-free errands worry-free trips to the office and guilt-free evenings with family and friends.

You may have tried everything you can find on how to treat this terrible affliction that is prevalent in a high percentage of dogs only to hear from neighbors that your dog is howling all day, come home to destruction, or worse, to find that your dog has injured themselves in their frantic attempt to get to you. Maybe you have resigned yourself to never being able to leave your dog alone...ever.  Whether you are dealing with clinical separation anxiety or separation related behaviors, I can help.

What is Dog Separation Anxiety or Separation Related Behaviors?

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, there are approximately 83.7-88.8 million dogs in homes throughout the United States. A 2020 Frontiers in Veterinary Science article estimated 22.3-55% of dogs, so some degree, are uncomfortable when their guardians leave them home.

THAT THAT IS A LOT OF DOGS struggling with alone time!!

Milder cases often go unrecognized and untreated creating a daily ordeal for these dogs.

To put this complicated condition simply, Separation Anxiety and/or Separation Related Behaviors are the outward signs of a panic attack! For your beloved pup, the act of you leaving them alone floods their body with stress-inducing chemicals resulting in anxiety and fear. Repetitive and regular absences frequently result in Separation Anxiety dogs becoming hyper aware of your pre-departure routine. They notice when you put on "work" clothes or particular shoes because they are a sign that that dreaded alone time is on the horizon. The anxiety and fear build as you prepare to leave and explodes as soon as you step out the door!

Is there any hope?

YES! Things CAN get better! It is possible! As a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT), I use protocols that have proven effective in hundreds of dogs. My techniques help you teach your dog that your absences are safe and there is no need to panic. I am here to help and support you every step of the way! Wouldn't it be wonderful to know that your dog is peacefully resting at home while you enjoy your night out?
